Special lighting of the MNAC in Barcelona with BENITO URBAN Milan RGBW floodlights, illuminating the building in yellow for the Tour de France Grand Départ.

Need / Problem: The MNAC required a special lighting solution capable of bathing its façade in the yellow of the Tour de France while respecting its architectural and heritage value.
Solution: Installation of Milan XL RGBW floodlights with DMX-512 control to create precise colour scenes adapted to the event.
Result: The building became a nighttime icon associated with the Tour, strengthening the relationship between light, heritage and urban identity.

To mark the Tour de France Grand Départ from Barcelona, the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) was illuminated in yellow to welcome one of the world’s major international sporting events.

BENITO URBAN took part in the project by installing Milan XL RGBW floodlights, a solution designed for architectural and heritage lighting. Floodlights with a total power of 250 W were installed on the building and configured to illuminate the façade and the museum’s main architectural volumes.

RGBW technology combines white and coloured light within the same installation, offering great versatility for events, celebrations and institutional uses. Thanks to the DMX-512 control system, light intensity, colour and lighting scenes can be managed with precision.

An intervention that demonstrates how light can become a tool for urban communication, enhancing heritage and connecting the city with an event of international significance.
