Gavà will reduce 70% if its electric consumption thanks to the renovation of 6,000 luminaires by integrating the latest LED technology of BENITO NOVATILU.

The City Council has installed a total of 6,300 luminaires with the latest LED technology. They can be found on the public road and will allow the reduction of the CO2 emissions generated by Gavà.

This intervention will improve the quality of the lighting, which can be regulated according to a schedule, thus achieving savings up to 70% of the power consumption, as well as contributing to mitigate the effects of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions. Thus, the consumption will go from 3.9 million kWh to only 1.2 million per year. These savings correspond to a return on investment inferior to two years.

Moreover, BENITO NOVATILU luminaires include more efficient lenses which avoid light diffusion. They also allow the regulation of the luminous flux during the central hours of the night, increasing total energy savings.

The luminaires chosen for this replacement vary depending on their location: MILAN for road areas, INNOVA for pedestrian areas and MILAN floodlights for areas requiring a more functional lighting.
